The Educa Group or Grupo Educa is an educational Nonprofit 501(c)3 grassroots organization based in Pasadena, California. Our mission is to enhance the Spanish language opportunities for children with a pre-existing knowledge of Spanish.  We accomplish this enhancement through educational and fun activities that include crafts, reading, science experiments, singing, games and field trips, all in Spanish.

Our activities started in June of 2003 at the S. Hill branch of the Pasadena Public Library, when a group of bilingual families decided to provide their children with an exposure to Spanish literacy. The founding group consisted of families with at least one native Spanish speaking parent. Most of them were certified teachers and higher education professionals, which rapidly led to a learning oriented approach. From the start, we decided to open up the group to everyone interested and it grew rapidly to include children of several nationalities and family backgrounds.

Curriculum: Curricula are specific to each of four age groups.
- Toddlers: vocabulary, nursery rhymes, games, story telling, crafts.
- Pre-schoolers: pre-literacy program with introduction to reading through games and songs, crafts.
- Elementary: Spanish composition, grammar, theatrical play.
- Middle schoolers: Advanced composition and grammar, role play.

As a group functioning on a volunteer basis, parent participation is an essential component that has led to the success of the group. Parents are required to participate in at least one of the working committees (Social committee, Academic, Administrative, Public Relations and Fundraising, Outreach).

Classes are held at 10:30 am every Sunday of the month, excluding the first Sunday which is reserved for excursions.  The location is at Blair East located at 1135 S. Euclid Ave, Pasadena, California.
